We also ordered canvas prints of the boys hiking last summer. This was such a sweet moment that we wanted the reminder in their room always - they often forget how much they love each other. They decided to move the furniture in their room and they chose where they wanted to hang the pictures.
Annie finally got her ears pierced! We had to find a day when Daddy could stay home with everyone else so that Mommy and Annie could have some alone time. Annie was very nervous but did a great job holding still for the piercing. She chose a pink stone in her earrings. They are darling.
We had a celebratory pretzel with cheese once the piercing was done. Carbs and cheese make everyone feel better.
Tommy came home with this darling turkey hat on the last day before Thanksgiving break. Joey loved the hat to death and sadly our little turkey didn't make it until Thanksgiving day.
Puna and Papa arrived for the holiday and Papa offered to take the kids on a hike so that Puna and Mommy could make Thanksgiving preparations. Only Lily and Joey decided to go. That's probably a good thing since they took a little adventure off the main trail. They climbed to the top of a little peak near the main trail. Lily said it was awesome, but she was really tired when she got home.
We traveled together to Grammy and Grampy's house. The kids got to decorate turkey cupcakes with Puna.
Joey was just there for the frosting.
Every year we get a little bit better at making something that actually looks like a turkey....
....sort of
Thanksgiving day was quiet and fun. We played lots of games and got to relax with family. The kids enjoyed Luminaria so much the first year that we decided to go again. This year it was raining so the kids didn't run and play as much as last time. We still loved all the beautiful lights and the statues of Jesus.
Tommy was not in the mood for pictures. He was not happy about having to go back out in the rain.Luckily, getting to hold his own umbrella brightened his mood.
Joey wanted to pet the reindeer, but they never came close to the fence.
This giant lite-brite was a cool idea, but it wasn't working correctly. The kids still gave it a go.
It felt so good to get in the car, take off our wet jackets, and turn up the heaters! Winter weather is definitely upon us.
No trip to Grammy and Grampy's is complete without some time in the hot tub. The kids look forward to it every time we visit.
Tommy let the girls dress him up like a mermaid. I can't decide if the shell bra or the sea horse earrings are my favorite.Downtown Ogden does a holiday parade and light festival. We decided to give it a try. After some searching for a parking spot, we found a spot to watch the parade. The kids didn't love it, so we started walking and exploring. There was a cute Christmas village set up in the park nearby but it wasn't lit up yet. We will have to try seeing that another time because it looked cute.
Grammy put on a Christmas party for the family who caould make it to her house. Everyone's favorite event was the candy cane catch.
I'm so glad we could spend the holiday weekend with both sides of our family. The kids love being with their grandparents and having all four of them at the same time was a real treat. So much to be thankful for!
