One Sunday night after dinner the kids put on a song and dance show for us. They dressed up and sang and danced to Frozen music for over half an hour. We laughed so hard. Annie was trying to put on a serious performance at first, but Lily and Tommy soon joined in and the craziness began.
We found a pair of tap shoes that used to belong to me in a box of Brady's baby clothes. Annie is excited to have tap shoes that fit her. She and Lily like to tap together. But Annie truly loves giving Mommy solo shows while Lily is away at school.
Lily and Annie love their new winter pajamas. Annie got to "shop" our boxes of Lily's old clothes for her new winter pjs. Plus Puna sent a few new ones for her. Lily really likes jammies with long sleeves and long legs to keep her warm at night - so thank you Puna for the fun new ones for Lily.
Tommy still cuddles with his baby all the time. He tries to bond with new people he meets by sharing his baby too. It is really sweet to see him walk up to someone and hand them his baby. If the new person gives the baby a hug, Tommy will be the new person's friend. If they are indifferent to the baby, Tommy will take the baby back and move on to a new person. Tommy has just discovered a love of baseball caps. A neighbor friend came over wearing one and Tommy kept trying to take it. Since then, he will occasionally seek out the one ball cap he owns and wear it around. I guess I better get him a few hats for Christmas.
Last Saturday I was tired and just not feeling up to cooking. We took the whole family out for dinner at Cafe Rio. Smiles all around. We love those sweet pork salads and quesadillas. Thanks for the night off and dinner out Daddy. It was much needed.
Tommy is a macaroni and cheese bandit. He had Annie in tears Saturday because he climbed up to her spot at the table and started eating her noodles. She refused to touch them after Tommy's interference; and we had to dish her up a new plate - once she calmed down 30 minutes later. Tommy is into everything all.....the.....time! He keeps Mommy on her toes.
Bubba was helping Daddy in the garden and kept asking for the headphones we wear while running the mower and trimmer. When we'd put them over his ears, he would stop moving and hunch his shoulders to try and keep the headphones in place. He looked so uncomfortable standing there frozen in place. We would feel bad for him and take them off. A few minutes later he would find one of us and ask to have them on again. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Silly boy.
Sunday nights are my favorite nights lately. Brady and Madison usually come over in the afternoon and stay with us until it's time to get the kids in bed. Last Sunday the girls helped me make two pans of Gunpowder Chicken. They did a great job. Daddy came home from a meeting and snapped some pictures of me with all my little helpers. Annie was a little grossed out by trying to get the slimy cream of chicken soup out of the cans and refused to eat the casserole. Silly kid. She has eaten it at least a dozen times before.
Last night Madison and the girls wanted chocolate cake for Sunday dessert. They helped me make and bake the cakes. I made the frosting. And they helped remove all traces of frosting from the beaters and bowls after the cake was iced.
Tommy was upset that he didn't get to lick the beaters so I got a little frosting off the cake, put it on my whisk attachment, and let him have a turn too. That boy loves chocolate!
The girls did their Primary program in Sacrament meeting yesterday. They did a great job singing and speaking in the microphone when it was their turn. I was playing the piano so I couldn't see them, but Daddy, Brady and Madison were all there in the congregation to watch.
That's all for now. We're getting excited for Thanksgiving and visits from Puna and Papa as well as Madison's parents.
